michael jackson

monday night jam. at the risk of being redundant and obvious this monday night jam is a testament to the late king of pop. his personal history is one ultimately wrought with a sadness as vast in its scope as the joy that is contained in every measure of his music. still my lasting memories of mj will always be good ones; like being seven years old, driving home from virginia with my cousins singing along with "i'll be there" the first time i ever went on vacation away from my parents. and last saturday night, in a car full of those same cousins driving through the grimiest part of newark at 2am with our windows down, grown as hell, bumping p.y.t. and honking at the kids kicking it on the corner gracious enough to reward us with a dance.

here's a slept on mj hit from back in the day.
and here's some people dancing
